People who fly first class pay for the ultimate in comfort and first-class service. With Lufthansa the luxury experience for first-class travellers begins on the ground. Fifty years after its launch, this airline with a long tradition and a crane in its logo opened, as a world first, a first-class terminal at Frankfurt airport. Lufthansa invested around 15 million euros in this building which was designed by the architects Hollin Radoske and houses one first- class lounge in an area of 1.800 square metres. Up to 350 first-class customers are welcomed here every day. The “Comfort Zone” contains four bathrooms where passengers can enjoy a shower or a bath before departure. All washrooms bear the signature of the Italian architect and designer Antonio Citterio. His guiding principle — to create the highest quality with minimalist design — inspired the architect to use the discrete luxury of the Axor Citterio collection for the bathrooms.
